Cabin panels are control and monitoring devices that interface with the pilot, who can press buttons, select status via switches or send messages via encoders. Airtificial has designed and manufactured a great quantity of this equipment with very diverse functionalities (power management, audio systems, fuel control, etc) and varied complexity (electrical interfaces, integrated data processing, bus communications,…).

Design, analysis and 3D modeling of aircraft parts and structures, tools, electromagnetic actuators and mechanical enclosures using CATIA and ANSYS.
Elaboration of process diagrams and documents for Instrumentation and Control, Electrical Systems, and Piping using AutoCAD.
Modeling of linear works (Pipeline networks, roads, highways and other transport systems), geospatial analysis functions (environmental impact studies, planning), creation of topography using Civil 3D.
Construction modeling through designs based on intelligent and three-dimensional objects, which are associated to automatically coordinate with any change introduced using BIM.

Embedded software

The development of complex on-board equipment and ground control systems includes, in some cases, software integrated into microcontrollers, CPLDs or FPGAs based on both low- and high-level programming languages (C, C++, Dynamic C, QT, Python, VHDL, assembler, etc.) for device management. Airtificial has a wide experience in electronic devices with embedded software such as communications modems, ECUs, base stations for UAVs or complex avionics.

Electrical design and manufacturing

Airtificial has more than 15 years of experience in the development of electrical systems and installations, both to offer complete solutions and to carry out manufacturing and integration works. For the first case, the engineering team carries out the activities of detailed electrical design, cable sizing, noise analysis, power study, definition of test cases, selection of aeronautical (ARINC 429, AFDX, MIL-1553) and industrial communication buses (CAN, RS-232), RS-485, Ethernet, Profibus), etc., while for the manufacturing works, Airtificial has the necessary equipment to carry out cutting, stripping, welding and crimping of cables, mechanical assemblies, continuity and insulation tests, leak testing or certification of electrical installations. These capabilities give rise to the development of turnkey products such as test benches, cutting boxes, monitoring panels, harnesses of different types of cable (data bus, single-wire, coaxial, etc.), multifunctional consoles, control units or electrical installations.

Critical hardware and software

In its knowledge of the standards that govern the aeronautical sector, Airtificial has developed and qualified equipment under the hardware (DO-254) and software (DO-178) standards that govern civil aviation, covering up to the highest level of criticality (Level A). This implies the application of techniques such as MTBF calculation, failure tree analysis, error modes and effects analysis, etc. for safety compliance. In addition, equipment compatible with night vision goggles has been developed, following the MIL-STD-3009 standard, as well as, of course, adequate to the environmental, mechanical and electromagnetic conditions to which avionable equipment is exposed, according to RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-810 standards.
